Oh, well!
I've been eagerly waiting for Virg to come to
the bay area so I can see him perform in an actual band, concert setting. Then I saw that he'll be performing with Eddie Jobson later this year and that they have a stop in S.F. I had no idea who Eddie jobson was so I checked about 8 youtube clips of him..... Long story short, I won't be seeing Virgil when he comes up my way. Guess I'll have to make a drive to the Baked Potato.

Really, you've never heard of him with King Crimson, UK, Jethro Tull or Zappa? He's quite a household name. Should be a great show to catch, I think.

No I haven't... Funny thing is I'm familiar
with those names but not so much him or the music. I'm not from that side of the tracks. And frankly I never liked Zappa. What I saw and heard on youtube by Eddie just didn't move me. And though I have no doubt that Virgil's going to blow it up, when I attend a concert it's about the collective effort with me and this material just isn't my cup of tea.

If I were you Don, I'd attend the concert anyway
! a) maybe you'll be surprised - live is always different than youtube/cd/vinyl/younameit, and b) it's Virgil live!!

That thought has crossed my mind, Matthias.

I was enthralled w UK w Bozzio back in the day, saw them live and enjoyed it tremendously. If seeing them is undecided, give the Danger Money album a listen and picture Virgil doing his take. Its obviously not Jazz/Fusion improv, but the band UK requires a skilled parts-playing drummer, and Virgil will undoubtably make those tunes shine in every way.
