Single lug tuning systems

I remember seeing Arbiter in drum magazines a very long time ago. If you haven't heard of them, they just use 1 lug per head to adjust the tension. Here's a pic of an arbiter snare:

I have no idea if it was a good tuning system - never heard or saw an arbiter drum, but in theory it seems really cool. Anyway I've googled around and seems like they only produce those "flats" drums and their regular drums weren't successful. I guess if the other drum companies didn't adopt the system it might mean it wasn't all that great?

I came across this... same principle.

Anyone played arbiter drums? Has anyone used this dts system? Just curious.

Tim Waterson has a set of them, but that's really the only I've seen from them. The flats don't really sound all that good, and I can't imagine the quality of the regular drums if they never caught on.
