Going into the studio soon :)
Probably on Friday Sept. 11. I'm recording for an album called "The Sandbox". My understanding of it is that it's a somewhat sociopathic commentary on Second Life (the online game), and extending into politics and religion.
www.sandbox1.com The sample songs don't actually contain my drumming, by the way. It's all drum machine stuff. Guess I better polish up my drumming for the tracks  . We're doing 6 tracks |

Well, the 11th is confirmed
I met the producer Andy Sorensen, and he and the composer of the music really enjoyed my rendition of 'Doctor Digital'. So that bodes well for me, because they'll probably like my other renditions as well! He really loved the sound of my drums as well. Turns out he's also a big Virgil fan too - used to go see him just about every night in Melbourne. I'm really looking forward to it... |

I'm not gigging at the moment
 .I've been having so much trouble getting music stuff happening since the start of 2007... I'm in a band at the moment, but we haven't practised in a month and still can't find a bassist. The last gig I played was at a birthday party mid last year playing classic rock with a bunch of other random musos. My plan for the site is to list gigs under where it says 'Gig dates', but I can't list them if I don't have them .Also, the studio date has been postponed by a couple of weeks. The producer is going through the songs we're going to record and I'll have to relearn them. It's so hard to get a decent band going around where I live! Very frustrating... At times it can be difficult to motivate myself to practise at all. |

Nah, I'm on the Central Coast, about an hour north of Sydney.
I think it's not so bad in Sydney for finding musicians... But my biggest problem is my job and my recreational activities don't really get me out there meeting other musicians. That and I hate clubs and pubs, so I don't socialise in that sort of environment . |

Good news, I've had a bite
 A guy who's married to a girl who my family's known for years is in a band which needs a drummer and I've said yes, at least for the short term .Looks like I'll have about 2 weeks to learn their material since they've already got a bunch of gigs lined up! |

It looks like I'm in the band! The audition went really well, they couldn't believe that I'd managed to pretty much nail 5 songs in 3 days, and I did really well on two new songs that we went through.
I'm very pleased about it! The recording for the Sandbox should be going on within the next few weeks as well. |

The best part is that there's a high probability that I'll be playing with them at a big music festival in 2 weeks... I'll finally get some good exposure again for the first time in years
