Haha, thanks Matthias. Great match, Netherlands really played well which I never expected because the qualification run was not very special at all.
Matthias, do you think your team is gonna make it to the second round? You'll have to win from Turkey and at least draw against Portugal... that's gonna be VERY tough! Jeppe, why is Denmark not represented this year? I didn't see much of their qualification matches, but they should be there, usually. I remember 1992, semi finals when our teams played and Marco Van Basten missed the essential penalty kick and you guys won the final from Germany. Awesome. xD |

Ahh, frank, you are just refresing some of my best memories.
That was magical back in 1992. I was 15 years old and this was practically the coolest thing I could imagine, beating Holland and Germany in the semi- and the final. I remember Henrik Andersens horrific knee injury and I remember it being the hottest summer in 10 years. And now - well these days we actually just don't have a very good team. But in a few years you will see Michael Laudrup's sons and Peter Schmeichel's son on the Danish national team. Wait and see. The Magic is returning to us... ![]() The magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEs0...feature=related

I thought that Fonzy
.Well frank...Yeah, tough one for Switzerland ! But then our team is never expected to get to the finals or so, we're a small country . I felt very sorry for Alex Frei though, very hard to have to give up after one half of a game...I think if we don't beat Turkey, there's no chance for us anymore, I don't believe we have any chance againts Portugal, except when they're already qualified and lazy... .

Wow, Spain OWNED Russia.
I love when "clever" football wins. Like Holland and Spain. Yeah.

Spain defeated Russia with 4-1, wow! Didn't see the game but I heard that Spain was quite impressive.
Sweden - Greece was the most boring game I've ever seen probably. Man, those Greek players are so afraid of playing the ball forward. Just keeping the ball in their defense... And it did not pay off. Good for them. Ugh. It's not that Sweden really claimed their victory with great football. It's more like Greece claimed their defeat with shi*ty play. |

Oh and cool tricks from Laudrup in that video. I use that one too on the field.
Hey Jeppe, which one of the Laudrup brothers was better? And which one played for Ajax? I know Brian Laudrup played for them near the end of his carreer. Good player. |

Michael played for Torrino, Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Michael is by far the better player from a technical perspective. He spauned the likes of Zidane and Ronaldinho. When you see the clips of him in the 1990's dream team from Barcelona, it makes no sense how insanely deep his understanding of the game really is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tFPSTJE07E This is a good compilation. His pass to Romario at 7:13 is legendary.

The stuff he pulled off at about 5:25 was insane!
And that thing at 7:13 is indeed brilliant. His insight and technique was totally brilliant. Thanks a lot for sharing that Jeppe, really needed that soccer greatness after tonight's BORING game. ![]() Last edited by frank : 06-10-2008 at 03:21 PM. |
