Quantum Factor
Now that everyone reading this should have heard Quantum Factor from the PAS clip, i thought i'd re-post this thread. I was trying to figure out the middle of Quantum where there are very difficult ensemble hits.
"Ok, please don't mind the inaccuracy of the note values in the midi file. I transcribed this more to show where the ensemble chords started. So as long as you have the theme in your head, you can pretty much play it by ear. Basically keep a count of the bars, and learn where to come in! Virgil has mapped out the basics of Quantum on his recent clinic tours by discussing triplet note exercises so practising these will definitely help you play and understand this part of Quantum Factor fully. I have one word "GGGGEEEEENNNNNNIIIIIUUUUUSSSSSS"!!!!! Man I have never ever seen nor heard phrasing on that level in the progressivefusion-rock
genre, NEVER. I am talking Clean, fluid, precise, Powerful, perfect taste and brilliant imagination. The more I watch and study this song the more I am blown away. You could take this song and say this IS! the benchmark, this is what we shoot for as drummers. Kirk |

No Probs Quitou!
And i do think this song is ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL!!!! When i went to two clinics on Virgil's European Tour, I just couldn't believe my ears, EVERY SINGLE entry was dead on with the backing track! I really don't think practise with a click can reap those results, and i do believe Virgil when he says that the understanding of whats happening in a point of time in music, really helps you play it better!

Thanks for all this Jimi. Eventually there will be some backing tracks with Virgil's own stamp on it.
