Here's a selection on drumclassics :

There might be a little shortcut..
one man has learned all left hand subdivisions
in swing.. Peter Erskine.
check out his video Everything is timekeeping 1..?

jazz is something that takes years to "master"...

the best way to do it is to "jump into the deep end" and "start treading water"

There are many paths to start on. I started with John Coltrane.

one artist leads to another, leads to another.

A good place to start is finding recent recordings (90's and sooner) of jazz artists who started in th 50's and 60's.
Example: Joe Henderson made a handful of great albums until his death in 2001, one of them being "So Near, So Far: Musings For Miles"..an amazing album. 12 years old and STILL amazing.

For me, 'Trane led me to Miles Davis, and from there I found ...herbie, ron, tony, jack, wayne, Zawinul, Chick...

...i also went back in time, checking out Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Art Blakey, Clifford Brown...

you see where it starts, though.. if you can see that.
