Unhappy Lucie Silvas's "Nothing Else Matters"

Okey, just heard this song on MTV. Heard it many times on the radio...
Talked about this with tons of friends... Some chick from our drumming idol's home country...

We all think this song is a pure RAPE of the original Metallica classic. And she's really gaining a LOT of international fame!

Am I the only one except from my friends (who I might have convinced with minutes of frustrated rambling? ) or is this single release rediculous!?!

BACK ME UP!

Greetz,
Frank

Wonder what the "M" stands for,not for music that's for sure! ~Sir Millard Mulch

I can't stomach the poo they spoon feed people on Mtv/Vh1.
And yes, everyone IS brain washed right now!

Don't forget the reaction the song got when it was originally released, though!

"SELL OUTS!"

[no, we only had 4 years to wait for THAT...]

[Actually, I like the sell-out albums they did/do. Much better better than the pseudo-thrash they're trying to re-model themselves as...]

[Who cares?]

Also, I believe Ms. Silvas gained fame through writing pop hits for other artists - maybe she just got frustrated with other people ruining her songs, and wanted to see what it felt like?

It's built in mediocrity that it never occurs to most people to want to do something that's not exactly like what they've already heard. Monkey-see,monkey-do.....they see a world around them, want to be a part of it, and do exactly what they've seen others do.

There's not much to do except continue supporting original musicians with original music. Just stop watching MTV if it bothers you. I never go to MTV for musical updates. I do however think they have aired lots of funny non-music stuff over the years.
South Park, Jackass and Chapelles show to name a few. Maybe they should just give up the name Music Television....

My thoughts aswell, to tell the truth they started out in the right direction until the HUGE$$$$$ started to roll in. THEY figured out pretty quick the age groups that will piss there money away on anything MTV deems cool.
So with this in mind, THEY look for people who are the most "marketable" not the most Talented.
If you are not on MTV's TRL top 10, your not on Billboard top ten OR Soundscan's top sellers that week.
The influence of MTV is astounding.
On the other hand..........
I wish we had a PROG-CHANNEL, maybe a OTV live video followed by a Planet X
video followed by commercial.....starring Virgil!

Even though I made an attempt to BAN the use of the name M*******A here, ( shhh................................ we might get sued) I'm with Frank!

They all kind of started like Beavis and Butthead. Then spun off to the networks.
