I need a new band name.

Anyone have suggestions?

I need something for a prog metal band.

preferably one word, metal sounding, but more prog sounding... if that makes sense.

We were called Opaqe earlier but people think we're stupid for spelling it like that. Argh.

Anyway, suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

I'd recommend getting the biggest dictionary you can find, and searching through it. start at any letter you like. You'd be surprised what you can come up with. It's worked for me with band's I've been in in the past.

I've always thought that there where some great band names within Frank Zappa's album titiles! (R.I.P. Dec 4,1993) Like~Playground Psychotics/The best band you NEVER heard in your life/*Uncle Meat*/Jazz from hell/Thing fish/*You are what you is/Them or us/Bongo fury/*The grand wazoo*/Zoot allures/Freak out/Hot rats/and of course.....Sheik Yerbouti!

I second that. Although I don't really dig using song names as band names - at least when searching for my own band - I always find myself going through Zapman's albums only to find that the names are really exellent for that purpose.

Man Zappy was hilarious!

Johnny and the Giant Wangs!!!!! or ProgMetal(since you wanted both metal and prog) simple and don't think it's been used before.

You're gonna catch hell for suggest the GREAT people here to name your band for you, or to give suggestions...

Just because you play "prog" doesn't mean your name has to be it.

Plus, "prog" to me, sounds like a disease. "Sorry can't come to work today. My PROG is acting up." "Man, I should've gone to the show. My dog has PROG, and it requires specific attention."
.....carry on....

I'm partial to "Urethra Franklin"

Use it, and I won't even charge any royalties.
