Virgil's book.
Hey all,
Saw Virgil yesterday, was totally blown away.. Someone asked what's up with his book. He answered that rumours are indeed true and he is indeed going to release a book.. It will feature transcripts from 4 OTV songs, 4 song from "the first Planet X album" which I think he's reffering to Universe (not the Derek album..), and it will feature a play-along cd, with those songs without drums... GREAT NEWS!! I'm definitely going to buy that book.. ![]() |

I was funny because the one who asked about the book was BRUNO the guy who trascribed virg's songs from OTV for the book.

Virgil Donati is not just a drummer.
He's an EVENT. After seeing and listening to him, you might expect that the drum world be made extinct BUT that's not the case, as bone-crushing as his jaws are. He has lit a fire under drummers everywhere and now, the question is who will follow his lead? Many know that I see the case for de-evolution but not in Virgil's case. ![]() That book is exactly what I wanted!! Can I pre-order, Virgil???

*pats self on back*
I'm the one who transcribed the drum parts for that Ignotus transcription I'm waiting on an email from Jemmy to let me know how it went ![]() Also the drum parts aren't quite complete with dynamics and accents and stuff and it only goes for like 1 minute 45 seconds from the start of the music. It's transcribed of the live version |

Hey guys, no sneak peek just yet. I think the transcriptions are almost there, but the tracks are not ready at the moment.
Hopefully, we can see this book being released in the first quarter of 2004. Cheers!

Sorry, David. I am a little over little with that, indeed ![]() I haven't spoken to him very long (or I would have been lynched by all the other people wanting to speak to him or have his autograph), so there was no time for him to really look at it or discuss certain things He seemed quite amazed that people were actually transcribing his stuff, since he said himself he hated to transcribe his own drum parts ![]() Also, I realized that my transcription part was more or less useless as he simply has all the instrumental tracks in his sequencer., as he wrote the song himself. But hey, I really learn something from transcribing it, so I'm glad to do it. The drum tracks are very probably _not_ in his sequencer. @Cristopher: has Virgil per chance mentioned that some idiots have transcribed part of Ignotus? Is there some way Virgil would publish his sequencer date (as MIDI e.g.) and that we (David and I) made that into a full band score? It seems (e.g. from the PX-mb) that there is a demand for such a thing.Last edited by jemmy : 11-26-2003 at 03:28 AM. |

Jemmy,
I know that the Ignotus transcriptions surfaced on the PX msgboards earlier this year. However, I haven't checked it out all that much. I dont know about Virgil releasing the MIDI score along with the transcription at the moment. More details will unfold as it comes closer! Cheers!
