Heh; I've actually recently started using my fists; just smashing the heads. It requires a bit more arm-movement, but you get a nice thump-sound out of your toms; fairly dark too, very musical Everyone should try it. Cymbals sound quite nice too. |

I use Hardimons for practice pad ONLY. Playing them on one surface is enough. You're playing them on the kit? Looks like you'll be getting Falams heads on your toms now, too!

I'm a drumline instructor, and I have my snare players use the Hardimons. I'm not a heavy hitter on the kit, so I'd never use the Hardimons on set. He also has a Ralphie Jr. stick that was developed for indoor drumline stuff to give a softer, more articulate sound. Maybe you should check those out too.

I used to only use these. You do seem to get a fatter sounds from the toms but your cymbal work will suffer. Plus, if you are looking for volume, use medium sticks. These boys are too big to swing quickly IMO.

ICM, try the Ralphie Jr.'s... they're awesome.
Speaking of which, has anyone ever compared the Thomas Langs or Virgil Donatis to the Ralph Hardimans or Ralphie Jr.'s? Are they similar in size? I've never seen them. |

I think next week I'm gonna chop a pair of oak trees down and use the whole thing as stix. I'm sure I'll have the ultimate pair!

I use Tom Aungst Corp sticks. They're very balanced. I used to march, so I've tried about every stick. These are the absolute best, in my opinion. You should try them. Also, play with these sticks for about a week, then go back to your other sticks. You will absolutely fly. Do practice on a pillow with the hardimons. It is ridiculous, what will happen to your chops.
