Wuhans- Yay or Nay
Hey folks,
I have heard quite good things about their value (good quality, dirt cheap price). Has anyone used them and if so, which models? Thanks. |

I bought a 16'' Wuhan Chinese a couple years back. The sound was a little too rigid (as in not trashy enough) for my tastes, but I scored it for under $100 CAD. Try it out in the store first before you make any decisions.

Sound: Yay! Durability: Nay.
But pound for pound I think they are worth it. Have 3 myself.

I have used their china's, from 12" to 18". I have also used their s-series crashes. I've had the 16, 18, and 19" crashes. They are great for the price. They are cast cymbals for the price of Zildjian ZXT sheet cymbals. I've even done a few sessions with them and they record nicely.

Neil Peart was a big fan of Wuhans before he moved to Sabian. I don't know of anyone else who used/uses them, but they sound totally awesome on his recordings (thanks to the engineer + producer, no doubt...). And I'm amazed at the price too! T

Wuhans are THE China cymbal!!!!
22" Baby! I love the wind gong too...I hope to get one soon. Once you hear a Wuhan china, every other china pales in comparison. |

I just ordered three Wuhan cymbals for $45 (including shipping!) from Amazon. (A trad. splash, a rock splash and a 12" China)
