Turning the bass drums backwards?
Has anyone ever tried this? I had a friend who put the bass drums and beaters BEHIND his throne and played them with crazy heel strokes and toe-heel patterns. He said it took some time to get used to it, but once he did ... it felt much more natural (and less stressful on the tendons in the feet) to play like this.

Just doesnt sound like the advantages could possibly outweigh the disadvantages. As far as tension on the tendons of your feet, well, proper technique seems to take away any stress your body may be experiencing. I'll stick to the way drummers have been doing it for the last 90 years! |

Basically, you just turn around. On the throne. Simple.
