Tell me what you know about Japanese Drumming
One thing that impresses me so much is the ammount of dicipline that's routed in the Japanese culture. I found out Akira Jimbo started drumming at 18?? And look at him now! My drum teacher told me about these drumming schools where they make you do everything (eg-write, eat, open doors) with your weak hand until you're completely ambidexterous. Does anyone know anything else?

all i know is that these japanese musicians are really into their craft...and if anyone did jcheck out any recodings of TAIKO drumming (japanese traditional drums) you will realize that TAIKO drums is kick ass.... big sticks...and drums..with interesting rhythms...i bet virgil will fit right in....! =-P
