Talking recording from the internet.

hi guys... i decided to copy all the audio files from the vicfirth rudiments page. i wanna play along with the rudiments at different tempos. so i wanna save it on a cd and be able to play it in an stereo.
i was told that with the recorder machine from the pc, my idea will work. but it didnt! can you guys help me-- of have advices?

my browser wont load up the rudiments so i have to go on the laptop to get them
pretty gayyyy
i have no idea how to record them but that would be way cool!!

as far as i can see these files are midi files right?
u simply have to find a program, that can render wave files from midis.
and then simply make an audio cd

...shouldnt be too hard

P.S. on my BSD Machine found timidity in the ports-tree
dont know if it's available for non-unix OS'
