INCREDIBLE!! The first video is incredible, great drumming - really awesome stuff, as always! But the second vidoe! What the hell man... Virgil just keeps getting faster and better every day isn't he?! Oh man, SICK! I also LOVE the fact that there are actually two screens on the stage. I never knew they used those screens. I saw three of their shows - one at the 2006 tour and two at the 2007 tour. Never saw any screens. Pretty neat! I'd love to see that live some time. Thanks for posting those awesome videos Virg and Chris! w00t!! |

Credit goes to Steve Scanlon, who mastered the in ear mix to maximise your aural gratification!! And by the way, even though the audio to part 2 is taken from the ineffectual camera mic, you can still get a sense of the quality of the P.A. mix...

The first solo is one of the best I have seen from Virgil. It really has great direction to it and it FLOWS so well, again the sense of phrasing makes it it a very MUSICAL solo not just blowing crazy chops. Thanks Virg!

Thanks for the comments friends. With regards to the in-ear feed, I just take a stereo mix of the drums from either the monitor board, or FOH, depending on the situation. On this occasion, we had a monitor engineer on stage, so it came from there. It can be a simple process - you can even bypass the computer if you don't want to record. A good pair of triple driver in-ear monitors can also be a good investment.
