you got some pretty nice ideas out of that groove! you're really pushing it to the limit at the end. :)
btw.: here's a note for note transcription of that intro. http://rapidshare.com/files/1938817...ratus-fixed.rar |

Thanks man !!I was looking everywhere for that transcription !!! |
nice man, love your playing on your other youtube clips. the dennis solo over the ostinato is great, sounds really authentic.
whilst on the subject of stratus...not to take anything away from virgil's playing on bunny's version, but there is only one definitive stratus for me, which has to be billy's original. this intro solo is so, so hip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgSluYtBCEE great band, the percussionist really enhances the groove a lot. sorry dude, didn't mean to hijack your thread. will be following your youtube vids with interest in future. |
Marlos you're a freak. Haha.
Great video! |
I don't know, in my humble opinion the quintuplet notes are not really flowing and of the same length... It's very tricky, it's not much of a difference to having some triplet groupings instead of having a quintuplet sound at all.

jesus Christ !!!

Sounds really cool in the first complete example. But when you add all the other things like the dotted notes and the 7's, the musicality of it diminishes in my ears.
And of course there's no way I can play this stuff. :) On a shear drum-istic viewpoint, that was insane. And I just saw some of your other vids and my jaw fell off the hinge. |
:) :)
