MD,
In the exercises for double-strokes, we have tried to light the fire on that particular pattern. I have explained every aspect of what I have been doing. Check it out if you haven't and see if it doesn't help. I think there are 5 pages on it. Others have said a few things about it too. Plugging for you! :) |
The need for speed again.
Just keep practicing those single strokes, doubles, paradiddles etc while your are watching tv. Just remember that speed isn't always the key to be a good drummer. Also try practicing those crossovers really slow for an hour or two. it helps other hand muscles to loosen up. i always practice the one hit per drum approach for crossovers. the more drums you have the better. try it. once you get it up to speed it sounds and looks mighty cool, the way Virgil does it on his cymbals...my god! |
AC is right about the importance of speed.
Echo what he says about the crossovers OR ANY OTHER pattern that you're working. The truth is that the slower you go, the better you will get! :) |
