The following exercises are designed to help you create some interesting single stroke patterns between the crash cymbals and the drums. All the downbeats are played on the right and left crashes, alternating from one to the other. Ofcourse once you feel comfortable with the execution, you can randomly pick different cymbals to strike, depending on your set-up. The remaining two triplets in each beat are played on snare or toms. As you pick up speed, accuracy becomes a factor, so it's important to focus on control. You'll find working on this can really take your wind from you...it's a real workout!
