Hiya'll! ;)
Just wanted to present two videos of me playing during our last rehearsal. Don't expect technical fireworks, virtuosity. Just two progressive songs ;) Any comments appreciated. Somehow I've always considered my style quite dull, boring to listen to. I wonder if you have the same impression.
Enjoy (if you can :D)

Nice playing. I don't think your playing is dull at all, but I do think you need to use a bit more double kick :p

lol, that was random :) thanks for commenting Dre. About that double kick were you serious? because somehow I can't make it out ;) I think I actually play a lot of DB there. well, hopefully not as much that it actually spoils the song.

Well you played alot of broken 16th note patterns (sort of like what Mike Portnoy would do), but yes I'm being serious, if I was in that setting I would be playing more double kick, even throwing lots of 32nd notes in there. What you do is very cool but at times you're playing more of a funk/fusion sort of beat (with the displaced snare hits) than a prog/metal beat. I'd also try and mix up the way I played the accents in the intro's too, maybe play some motifs around the kit instead of playing them all on the crashes. That's just my opinion, your drumming is still great.

Actually what I played there were one of my first takes on those songs. The second one has not actually been finished still.
The problem with by BD is that due to my Uni I don't really have time to practice and primarily that's why I refrain from playing some more intricate foot patterns - because I'm not capable of playing them at this stage.
I'll try to record a new version of the first song (or both maybe) to compare the two versions.
