If the snare drum in the picture is the actual one you're selling with the kit, it's definitely deeper than 5". At least 6".

I think you're right there Mister Slam. :) It really looks like a 6".

20 k for the kit

Well that's one fantastic update you know.. just coming back after 6 weeks with a price like that, without even clearing up any further questions.

I'll just try again... Is that a 6" deep snare? :p

So 20k, Aussie dollars or US dollars or Canadian dollars? :)

In all seriousness, you should provide some additional information if you really want to sell this baby.

What is the actual thing you are selling? Incl. hardware or not? And for 20k, does it come with cymbals and everything or what? Seems like a high price to me, if it's only the drums, though I'm not an expert...

Good luck selling it man, that kit looks beautiful!

The kit doesnt come with any symbols,i will post the exact snare size when i go home early next week guys.
The kit is a hard thing to price thats why i originaly said im taking offers.
I've been told a 5 piece is worth 9k Australian.
The kit is rare and unique with birch and maple in each shell.
Signed by Virg as well.
Maybe you guys can give me your opinions on what the kits worth.?

thx for the fun!

I'd give you $1,500 US dollars for it. The drums are probably discontinued or something.. Its used... But $20,000!!!?? Are you kidding me!!!!??? I have like 6 autographs from Virgil himself on pictures and heads. Who wants to give me $1000.00 for each picture???? Ha ha ha ha ha... Be more specific.

Sure Virg played it. But it was merely several years ago so that does not really make it any kind of memorabilium. I'm also sure that this kit is one of the top of the range and should be expensive but 20 K?

Stuff that is in the photo (prices based on eBay.com):

17" saturation crash - $ 239
16" saturation crash - $ 217
18" sat. crash - $ 259
19" sat. crash - $ 279
20" sat. ride - up to $ 350 (estimate, couldn'd find)
18" HHXtreme crash - $ 305
14" HHXtreme power hat - $ 429
13" sabian AAX regular hats - $ 265 (couldn't find price for 12")
14" AAX mini chinese - $ 159
Pearl Eliminator 2002B - $ 377

The price of the kit iself is my own estimate. I could not find any references (maybe someone was right, maybe it has been discontinued). I'm mainly into Sonors and I know that top Premiers don't equal top Sonors. IMHO this NEW kit would be around $ 6-7 K (I repeat, this is just my estimate. Don't drop nukes on me).

Also, IMHO the fact that Virg played does not really matter. He did not own it. The kit was just provided by his endorser. He didn't keep it at home, make love on it, cough on it when he was sick, did not witness the refurbishment of his house.

So the grand total is (taking the upper border of my kit price estimate):

9879 USD MINUS the fact that it's used = ~8000 USD.

Again, I don't want to ostracise or insult anybody. This is just a deductive analysis of what the kit would cost. Of course its owner may quote a far higher price for it but that's only going to affect the chances of selling it.

Thanks for reading!
