Flams are a stroke that I like to use around the drums as well as on the snare drum. Here are some basic examples of the flam stroke which I think are pretty essential. I will show you a few variations of this stroke.
Let's start with the basic flams:

Next we have the Flam Tap:
For those who don't know, this is a double-stroke with a flam on the downbeat.

Finally, for this lesson, we also have the Flam Accent.
This is basically a triplet with a grace-note played before the main downbeat. (Refer to chart above)
