I got Virgil's book 3 weeks ago and its pretty cool . I atempted to play Dog Boots and it kicked my butt.But i'm getting better though its like i can get into the MASTER'S mind!!!!!!!!!! Very Awesome!!!!!!!!!! ;)

But yeah, the book is cool! GREAT to see the master's thoughts!! A whole new world opened for me, especially with Native Metal! I always knew Virgil's performance on this one is sick, but it's even SICKER now I can see every detail he played, every quintuplet fill I didn't recognize as such before...

The man is from another world, definitely!!

My store had about 4 weeks, too. YEEEAH, it IS interesting:D!! IMO. By the way, I just watched my MDFest 2003 DVD one more time, and I stumbled over the Drumbassadors. They're pretty cool and groovy, aren't they! Are they famous in Holland?

I'd say yes, just the OTV-Transcriptions makes it worth it. The Planet X stuff is great too I think, I don't dig those songs very much though.

But if you're going to buy it please don't play quintuplets in your band, because when you're dead you're not gonna be able to enjoy the book;)!!

I've heard of them... I don't like the idea of 2 drummers playing at the same time. It's so easily overrated. I haven't heard/seen them but I've heard about them... I'd rather see 1 Virgil than 2 drumbassadors... :p I don't like their name either...

Saw the Drumbassadors live in August. They are absolutely superb, and I recommend you all to see them soon! Their melodicism and use of structure is fantastic, and their stick tricks are sickening. Have I bigged them up enough?

If i want to see 2 drummers play at the same time i'd see Terry Bozzio and Chad Wackerman because they are so musical and they don't ever play the samething . It's all creativity and musicality.

I got Virgil's book two days ago, it's impossible to know what figures he's doing by your ears...he does lots of quintuplet combinations just awesome:O
I think the polyrhytms readed in 4/4 and done very slow at first aren't a big problem... In my opinion Virgil is a drummer who has explored every tipe of figure and subdivision... that's because I think he's just incredible..
