foot playing

i always play with my barefoot on the pedal, but im getting used to it, i mean do i need to play with my shoes? not with barefoot? co'z it looks so awful when im on stage. what shud i do? any advice will be useful. tnx

Your behind the drums so it doesnt really matter that much! Do what feels right for you, BUT i would suggest that you dont be too reliant on playing barefoot so much that you cant play without shoes, if your in a formal sort of situation for a gig, then that would be a bit weird playing barefoot! In your practice time, just try practicing next time with shoes, socks, barefoot, thongs haha, your anything that might pop up in a situation that you might have to play with so you dont have to really think well i prefer playing barefoot! Hope that helps :D

Dude! I thought I was the only one with the barefoot problem! I play barefoot ALL the time. I'm doing a solo at the Sydney Opera House in a couple of months and i'll prabably play barefoot there aswell....haha it'll be a crack up.

I play barefoot as well, 80-90% of the time

I use a wipping acting for my feet I also play barefoot the motion lets me to rolls very fast and also do drags .flams with the rolls together its a good action to get down when you don't want to kills your thighs to much and also lets you hit woodblocks , cowbells you names it while keeps the rolls going .Once you get the action its just like using your hands it very easy any type of karate soft shoe can help its really amazing what you feet can really do if you work with then . like Virgil make rolls with your feel do able . its the next step
