My friend showed me this website that lets people talk about meanings of songs. There are a whole bunch of artists but I immediately searched Tool. Im sure we're all aware of tool being a bit "out there" in one way or another but this discussion really opened my eyes even wider. They're talking about the song Lateralus and some of the hidden rhythms, ideas, and patterns that they've discovered are just astounding.

Die hard tool fans should love this. Even if you're not a fan, though, it's still interesting. They talk a lot about Danny Carey's geometric drumming too.

One of the main comments you should be sure to read is around the middle of the page. It's orange colored and it's the longest entry.

Happy reading!

p.s. Forty Six and Two is also an interesting one as well.

Nice post. A lot of people miss much of Dannys brilliance because they
don't understand what drives his playing. His understanding of mathamatics in
tandum with various occult studies are some of the prime influences in his playing.

There is a lot of hidden meaning in Tool's music but most people would not
figure it out.

Danny's playing fits so perfect with Tool's music. Just one of their songs contains more interesting and original musical ideas than a complete album of almost all the artist in their same record sales range. Thanks for the link. DEP rules too!!!
