Wow, thanks Virgil! The show was incredible! I have seen many great drummers and been to many clinics including Billy Cobham, Simon Phillips, Dave Weckl and I have to say you are right up there with the best if not better! I was blown away by the paradiddle/fiveadiddle and then when you switched it, well all I can say is you are incredible man! Most clinics are a 10 minute jam then an hour talk show. It was just the opposite! If any of you guys reading this get a chance to see him, don't hesitate you will be blown away! Unfreakingbelievable!! http://www.virgildonati.com/msgboard/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=3#

yeah, definitely must have been awesome...i'm actually slated for my first virgil clinic next monday in portland, maine. i've seen him a bunch with bands and at shows and stuff, but never in a clinic...this is the closest he's ever come to me i think. i absolutely can't wait for it. i'm gonna bring my digital camera with me, and take a crapload of pics, but i'm upset that i'm not allowed to videotape it :( even if its just for me to watch, because it would probably be the only thing that i ever watch again, if i had the whole clinic on tape. :D anyone else going to this clinic?

The clinic was indeed amazing. My brother and I drove about 3 hours from Dallas to attend and it was definitely worth it. We were at the Planet X show in Dallas a couple years ago, and that was an exciting show, but the clinic was a little more personal and more enjoyable.

At the end of the night, I was able to have my V-Drum snare signed...what a treat!

He handed out sheet music with it on it, I could scan it for you if you like, send me an email at NickoMcBatyahoo.com. That is if it's ok to do that sort of thing. Man I still can't believe how badass Virgil is. I wish I had brought a video camera. I think I'll call Brook Mays and see if they got a tape of it or something. Mgray be prepared to be blown away!
If theres anyway someone could get a video of it uploaded that would be awesome!

Yup, the Round Rock clinic was my first live Virgil experience and I was absolutely blown away! I've been playing and teaching for quite a while and I was actually able to follow what he was doing (mostly). But me actually doing it... nope. His independence is just great! I have much to work on. MUCH to work on.

I REALLY wish that Virgil would put something newer out in the "educational DVD" market. I realize that performance is really his gig, but MAN do we all have a great deal to learn. It was just hard to believe what ground he's broken into. Such an inspiration. Thanks, Virgil.

Nice to have you here Djembe and great first post and I agree on the fact that Virg should or I should say I REALLY WISH! he would put out an new instructional dvd. There is MUCH ground that he has broken since 91's Power Drumming.
