Saw Bozzio in Clinic this week, although he didn't play many of the more complex ostinatos that he has done in the past and has possibly been overtaken in terms of technique (whatever that means), what he played was purely about music and not just technique for technique's sake. All drums tuned to exact notes / pitches - created some great effects...makes me want to get some more sounds to trigger with my feet, I think he had 7 bass drums.
He played over a track which he referred to as Flute Loops, basically atmospheric sounds which blended excellently with his drum sounds, it really reminded me of Polytown which I think is one of his best recordings. Check it out if you haven't.
