heeey, great site guys, i am glad to be part of it, but i am looking into stainless steel ludwigs because i am a die hard bonham fan, anyone have any thoughts related to sound, like compared to wood. maybe price wise too.

hey thunder, i don't really know what you're asking exactly, but compared to wood drums, steel is much more resonant and cold. if you want another example besides bonham, i know that jon theodore of the mars volta uses stainless steel ludwigs. they sound badass if you're looking for that vintage sound imho. i'm not completely sure of the prices though. rock on dude \m/

yeah i was basically just looking for the sound, but i am a huge jon theodore fan too so thanks for the help

I didn't know he played stainless steel...I knew they were Ludwigs, tho, and that I love his sound. Guess I better actually READ those drumkit specs in MD instead of just drooling over a sweet kit...
