Here is the second part of the previous Subdividing 4's, 5's and 7's lesson posted earlier. You can refer to the same video if you want to follow variations from these charts.

Here's the 7 pattern in it's native form.

Now, the 7 pattern as a basic groove in 7/16.

The 7 pattern in triplet form in 4/4. Making the transition from feeling it in 7 to feeling it in 4/4 is the challenge here. As with the 5's it is a matter of processing how you hear the rhythms, and learning to feel them in the context of different pulses.

The following is the video version, with the kick and snare defining the 7 in the hi hat part. I've included the count, as a reminder of the importance of feeling the pulse as you play this.

Here is a version of the 7 with the kick and snare playing a basic groove. This will define the 4 pulse as you play the 7 on the hi hat.
