Playing a swiss triplet between hi-hat and bass drum is very effective on many levels: as a groove, as an ostinato to solo over, and as a base to any fill.
I have written some suggested exercises to help develop some creative control with the hands over the swiss triplets with the feet. Firstly commence by simply playing 8th note triplets as single strokes on the snare. Then try the placing accents as written. Following, I substitute flams for the accents - try those in all positions also.
The video demonstration clip does not include many of these examples, but I have notated a few of the ideas I played on the clip.
