Found this on Ebay and searched the net but couldn't find any reference to this product anywhere else. I wonder are these the actual mics Virgil uses??
PS. A rare album feat. Virgil on 2 tracks:

With regard to the mics that description is a load of bull, from one end to the other.
The part about "needing two mics, but with these you only need one" also. (I'm studying audio-engineering). As far as I know Virgil hasn't got any mics that he generally uses.
This I base on videos and pictures where you can see what he's using, and looks quite much like he just goes with what the engineer at hand wants..... (we like :))
Power Drumming Video: Shure SM57 on both snare and toms. The good old workhorse.
1997 MD Festival video: Can't remember, but I think it's some small condensers on toms, might be Shure Beta98 - but that's from memory. Kickdrum might be AKG D112 on that one, which is also a widely used kickmic capable of producing great kicksound.
2003 TUDW DVD: On this he's using Audix D-series mics at least on toms and auxiliary snare - that I can remember. These mics KICK ASS! They are in my opinion the best all-round rock-type (as opposed to jazz) mics you'll find. If you're thinking about getting your own drumkit mics, my money is one these babies. I just got my other set of these mics last week, so now I have enough to cover my entire kit. Can't wait to get home and try them out. That includes the D6 on kick, which I also think is the best buy. And I have tried them all lots of times!
The list goes on with the pics in the clinic-department on this site:
Amsterdam November 9th 2003: Sennheiser e604 on toms - great mic. Shure SM57 on snare. Shure Beta52 on kick - great kick mic. On hihat: AKG C480 or CK91 - not sure. Both good choices.
Belgium November 8th 2003: Again Sennheiser e604 on toms. SM57 on both snare and HIHAT (a bit odd choice, but it is usable).
Berlin November 4th, 2003: Audio Technica condensers on toms - don't know them. SM57 on snares. Can't see the kickmic - it's just a wire going into the kickdrum, which probably means it's a Shure Beta91. A flat stealth-fighter resembling PZM mic. This mic is tricky. Sometimes it can sound better than all others, sometimes it sucks beyond belief - depends on the kickdrum and placement. Is usually good, though.
Montreal July 16th 2004: On toms: a mixture of Sennheiser MD421 (legendary and good), SM57 (workhorse) and Electro Voice NDYM-mics that I haven't tried yet myself. SM57 on snares once again. Kick: Sennheiser MD421. Overheads and hihat: AKG's probably.
North Canton April 13th 2004: Kick: AKG D112, Toms and snare: hard to see, but I'm pretty sure it's Audix D-mics. D1, D2 and possibly D4.
Tampa Florida, April 18th 2004: Snare: SM57, Toms: Shure Beta98 (great mic - always used by Weckl and Simon Phillips), no pics of kick. Hihat: Shure SM81 - great overhead/hihat mic. Also Weckl's first choice.
Warsaw, Poland March 3rd, 2004: Toms: SM57 and Sennheiser e604. Kick: Hard to tell, might be Audix D6. Hihat/overhead: don't know.
Nearfest pics: Overheads: Shure SM81, kick: Shure Beta52, toms: Shure beta98, auxilliary snare: SM57.
So, judging from what what I can remember and the pics at hand, we've seen Virgil use just about every drummic in the world - except those E-bay mics, that I've never heard of anyway..... :)
I study Audio Tech. too, but our lecturer says it's more from the musician's point of view, about good sound rather than exactly how that sound is made. As in we dont get too into the physics and whatever else.
Thanks for the advice on the Audix mics, i'll have to check them out :)
As for this Ebay crap, i was thinking it was shite, but then when i thought about it, i didn't actually know what Virgil uses, let's say for his Premium vids, i hadn't even thought about it!! So i thought i'd ask someone ...
