hi..
well...sometimes when i play with my band.. im forced to do a drum solo. i play at my level, but they want me to play like for impressive chops virgilesque style.
well.. thinking of that... how do you make you large combo combinations..nevesis has done it.

well, my main question iss
with 5,6,7,9,10,11,13,15 rolls how do you add bass drum?
or what orchestrations do you make?
do you play between the stickings and add bass? or play at unison?
please help!

Let's see some good combos for that.

5 stroke- You can do that in a 3 feel, like R ll rr L rr ll R ll rr L, then do the accents on the cymbals with the bass drum.
6 stroke- Same thing but it's in 4.
The paradiddle diddle works great for that, like RlrrllRlrrll. You can accent both singles like RLrrllRLrrll, then play the accents on cymbals with bass drum (the double pedal is great for that up to speed) and even make it an 8 note phrase like RLrrllbbRLrrllbb.
The diddle rudiments are more interesting to play around with because of the different stickings so you can add bass notes in there, I don't use the rolls in that fashion, I'm too much from the Gadd school in that particular aspect :D Speaking of which, you can also do the rolls accenting on the snare drum along with the bass drum. It creates a pretty cool marching band kind of effect.
The combinations are endless man.
