Snare Tuning!

Hi Guys. I can tune my Toms pretty well, but when it comes to my snare i can never get it right. Do you tune the top and bottom heads to the same pitch? What heads do you use? I like Danny Carey's snare sound. Any idea how he tunes his snare? Basically, i'm looking for all the tips i can get!! thanks,

i know Danny Carey like to tone his drums to a pitch i think it was either C or D i cant really remember but ithink it is one of thos, but im not to sure about his snare i think check on it as soon as i can.
