Derek approached me about playing on his first solo record. We organized a time to get together and jam – just the two of us. We had a good chemistry. He really liked my compositional concepts as well as my drumming so I ended up contributing to the writing on the album as well. The engineer was Tom Fletcher, who had worked with the likes of Yes, Toto, Los Lobotomy’s, and many others. He was lots of fun to work with.
