X News...
Finally some news about the upcoming Planet X album.
Some of you may have checked out Dereksherinian.com announcing details
about the next Planet
X album entitled "Moon Babies". Here is a part of
letter that Derek
wrote to fans :
The name of the new Planet
X Cd will be "Moon Babies". Some of the titles are:
Ataraxia
Ground Zero
Moon Babies
Tonaz
Slubberdegullion
Ignotus per Ignotium
I will finish my overdubs this month and hopefully Simon
will have it mixed by the end of the year. Billy Sheehan, Jimmy
Johnson, and Tom Kennedy will be featured on bass.
"Moon Babies" should be in the stores by March
2002.

Not only that, but you can now order the "Making of Moon Babies".
Vol. 1 and 2. All of songs are rough tracks.
$20 per volume.
Both volumes for $35.
Also, for a limited time you can order the 3-pack "Making
of..." CDs. This includes BOTH volumes of the Making of "Moon
Babies" and one volume of the Making of "Universe".
All this for $50.
4 Live Planet X bootleg CD's are also available for $50.
There are a couple of more clinic dates added to the tour
dates right before the European Steve Vai tour.

News...
Virgil has been busy cutting some tracks for the new
upcoming Planet
X album. There are a couple of Planet X dates that have been
added (2 European dates, 1 U.S. date). Here they are :
Oct 26th - National Palace of Culture - Sofia, Bulgaria
Oct 27th - Palace Hall - Bucharest, Romania
Oct 29th - The Drum Pad - Palatine, IL

August 31st 2001 - More dates!
We want to apologize for the little misunderstanding
regarding the upcoming Steve Vai
European dates. A lot of fans have e-mailed about the G3 European
dates. Thing is, those dates are NOT G3 dates, those are gigs that
only Steve Vai will play along with special guest Eric
Sardinas in Europe. The changes have been made along with the
addition of some clinic dates and more Steve Vai and G3 gigs (in

For the interested, the Modern Drummer Festival Weekend
pics from last May are in the latest issue of Modern
Drummer Magazine for the month of October. They also report
on how the whole event turned out along with other drummers.
Virgil is back in L.A. and in the studio. Also working
closely with Planet
X for their next upcoming album. Stay tuned for more!
July 26th 2001 - Steve Vai European
Dates!
As some of the fans may have noticed on Steve
Vai's website, the dates for the upcoming European tour have
been posted. Click here to check it out.
Also, there is a last minute clinic posting in the
tour dates. Virgil will be performing
at the Rhythm Course in London on July 29th and 30th, 2001 (Sunday
and Monday).
And finally, we are very overwhelmed by the performance
comments that the fans have been sending us. Thank you very

July 19th 2001 - Slow summer updates!
Busy times happening in Virgildonati-land! Virgil
is currently still on the G3 tour with Steve
Vai and there a couple of shows left! Shows are going great,
averaging about 6-7000 people a night, even more at times!

on Virgil's performance. You can check out the updated comments

X has been totally busy in North America as well as in Australia!
So far the gigs have been totally breathtaking! Keep writing in

Vai for upcoming G3 tour!
Amazing news! Virgil joins the Steve Vai lineup for
the upcoming G3 tour in June! (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci)
Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan reunite as a power lineup
along with drumming sensation, Virgil Donati!

April 16th 2001 - Planet X North
American/Australian dates!
As announced on the Official
Planet X Website, there are tentative/confirmed North American
and Australian tour dates that have been posted in the tour
dates section. Keep checking in as more and more dates get updated/added
April 10th 2001 - Virgil Donati
ALL-STAR show.
Another gig has been added in the Tour
Dates section.
Virgil will be performing on April 18th, 2001 at the
Baked Potato in L.A. along with his "ALL-STAR" lineup
such as: Brett Garsed, T.J. Helmerich, and Ricc Fierabracci.
Be sure to check it out if you're in town. Should
be quite a mindblowing show as always.

March 22nd 2001 - News/Planet X
to hit the studio!
As some of you may know, Virgil has been working tightly
with Mark Boals for the Ring of Fire band (not the CD). The final
mixes have been put together and it's sounding sweet as always!

As mentioned before, Virgil also co-wrote two of the
songs on Derek Sherinian's solo record entitled "Inertia"
namely the last track "Rhapsody in Black". You can now

X will be hitting the studio on April 4th.
They will being recording their follow up CD their 2000 release
"Universe"
Watch out for a Planet X east coast run following the Modern Drummer

The Mark Boals "Ring of Fire" album has
been released!
It features Mark Boals on Vocals, Vitalij Kuprij on keyboards, Tony
MacAlpine on guitar and Virgil Donati on drums. A very explosive
performance by all the musicians on this album!
