| December 24th 2000 - Small update,
and a Merry Xmas! Virgil is mentioned on the newest 25th year issue of Modern Drummer Magazine. MD put up the best 25 drummers of all time! Check it out for a good read! Virgil is one of the notable mentions other than that 25 best drummers that changed the face of drumming with their creative innovations. Some of the names that were on the list were : Buddy Rich, Vinnie Colaiuta, Simon Phillips, Neil Peart, and more! Also, for those of you that regularly check out Planet X's official website, Derek Sherinian wrote a special letter to all his fans to let you all know that Planet X is taking a small break and will be ready to start writing some new material in the new year (2001). magazine! For those of you that remembered, Virgil toured with Planet X back in June. Looks like the UK tour turned out to be great! A lot of you UK fans wrote in to comment about Virgil's performance. Thanks a lot for e-mailing and letting other people know how Virgil entertains a crowd! Yes! October 23rd 2000 - Virgil and Planet X... The Montreal Drum Fest is approaching. Virgil will be performing along with Planet X on Nov 3rd. Be sure not to miss him! Planet X dates have been added. Some 2001 tour dates have been added as well. Be sure to stay tuned here or on Planet X's Official Website to get updated information on tour dates. Virgil has also quite a few clinics coming up. Check out the tour dates for more information! October 4th 2000 - Garsed & Helmerich recordings... This will thrill most of you : Virgil Donati and Dennis Chambers will be hitting the studios this week to get some new tracks out for the new Garsed & Helmerich album. The album will also feature Gary Willis on bass and Scott Kinsey on keyboards. Stay tuned as more information comes together. One Freakhouse date has been added in the tour dates section. They will be playing at the Troubadour on October 10th at around 9:00 pm.
September 20th 2000 - Just a couple of updates... As most of you know already, the new Steve Walsh (Kansas) album
entitled "Glossolalia" has been released under Magna
Carta records. In other news, Virgil has been recording with Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen), Tony MacAlpine (Planet X) and Vitalij Kuprij (Artension) in effort to release a powerful album which should hit stores on November 22nd. Stay tuned for more information! In some Planet
X news, the band has announced their upcoming tour and their
dates have been updated. Virgil is currently on his european clinic tour. If you checked him out killing those drums, speak it out on the messageboard and tell the others what you experienced by watching the Thunder play!

August 22nd 2000 - More info on the Montreal Drum Fest! More news for you for the Montreal Drum Fest that is coming up : Virgil will be giving out Masterclasses on Friday Nov. 3rd, 2000 along with Pete Magadini and Will Kennedy. The Masterclasses will go from 10am to 5pm. At 7pm, Planet

full force at the main hall. Some notable drummers that will be there are also Simon Phillips, Gregg Bissonette, Tommy Aldridge, Robbie Ameen, Tommy Igoe and MUCH more! August 16th 2000 - Montreal Drum Fest... One of the biggest drum meets in the world is approaching. Virgil
will be performing on Nov 3rd along with Planet X. This is a MUST

tour dates updates. The Planet X Stratovarius dates have been cancelled. August 14th 2000 - Some Freakhouse dates... There are a couple of notable Freakhouse
gigs in L.A. that will take place fairly soon. Check out the the
tour dates for more info. August 9th 2000 - Planet X Japan gig... Most of the surfers here have been checking out the Planet X Website for updates for gigs and information about the band. Planet X will be performing in Japan on Oct 16th at Club Shibuya On Air West @ 7 pm. The ticket sales will start on August 27th. Be sure to check them out! This just came in! Fates

This means that most previous dates from October 21st to Thanksgiving

The contact numbers have also been added for the people that are interested to go and check out the Virgil Donati clinics in mid-July. June 17th 2000 - Freaked OUT! June 6th 2000 - Planet X Universe album released! The wait is over! The new Planet X album 'Universe' has been released! Keep your eyes on their official website for news and information. There are also a lot of people talking about the band's Euro Tour performances on the Planet X messageboard! Check it out! Universe has been released on Inside Out records. June 1st 2000 - Tell us about the Planet X gigs... There are quite a few people talking on the Planet X messageboard about some of the gigs that have past so far. As always, people keep saying that Virgil is NOT from this planet! If you checked out the shows, be sure to post it on the Planet X Messageboard and tell us on how it all went! May 16th 2000 - Big Update! Virgil will be soon going on the European Tour with Planet
X! Also, Virgil will be performing in Dusseldorf on May 23rd instead of May 24th at the Drummer's Institute. Virgil will also be doing clinics in Japan and Korea in July! Planet X tour which will be kicking off at the end of this month. May 9th 2000 - Autographed Planet X "Universe" Album! A lot of people can't wait to hear the new Universe album from Planet X scheduled to be in stores on June 6th! For those die hard Virgil fans, here's your chance to get the Universe album autographed by the whole band : Virgil Donati, Tony MacAlpine, and Derek Sherinian. They are limited to 500. Get 'em when you can. May 2nd 2000 - News from the New York Drum Expo! Most people that were at the event KNOW what it is to see Virgil blow away the people with his intense drumming. Virgil recieved TWO (YES TWO!!) standing ovations after he played a variety of songs from Planet X's new album entitled "Universe". "Her Animal" was the first song that he played. Soon after that, he was simply on fire! He kept wowing the crowd with his ultra-fast double bass patterns and tight grooves. When he finished his set, all the people cheered for an encore when Virgil came back and played "King of the Universe", which is one of the best songs from the new album! If you were at the event and you wanna share your thoughts on Virgil's performance, be sure to talk about it on the messageboard!
